9th Commandment

Exodus 20:16 “You do not bear false witness against your neighbour.

Leviticus 19:11 ‘Do not steal, do not lie, do not deceive one another.

Psalm 101:7 He who practices deceit Does not dwell in my house; He who speaks lies Does not stand in my presence.

False witness:

- a person who deliberately gives false testimony

Liar, prevaricator - a person who has lied or who lies repeatedly

False Witness is the same as:

Misinform, mislead, lie to, deceitful, fallacious, and fraudulent dishonest (vs. honest), dishonourable, ambidextrous, deceitful, double-dealing, duplicitous, Janus-faced, two-faced, double-faced,

double-tongued,

Insincere (vs. sincere), artificial, false, mendacious specious, spurious trumped-up (pronominal) untrue, gossip

Mean the same as:

Exodus 20:16 “You do not misinform others about your neighbour.

Exodus 20:16 “You do not bear misleading witness against your neighbour.

Exodus 20:16 “You do not bear deceitful witness against your neighbour.

Exodus 20:16 “You do not gossip about your neighbour.

Leviticus 19:11 ‘Do not steal, do not be false, do not be untrue to one another.

Leviticus 19:11 ‘Do not steal, do not be insincere, do not mislead one another.
